The House Is Small But The Welcome Is Big is on exhibit at the United Nations through December 11, 2009 before traveling to Colorado Springs, Colorado. This project is a Social Art Initiative of Venice Arts, with HIV + South African women and Mozambican children who have been orphaned by AIDS. Read more

Russia: One Year Later, Beslan Youth Use Photographs To Tell Their Stories

How do you help a teenager cope with the memories of a trauma on the scale of 2004′s massacre in Beslan, which killed nearly 200 children and robbed hundreds more of mothers, fathers, siblings, and friends? The UN children’s agency UNICEF, as part of its rehabilitation work in Beslan, has invited young people to tell their stories through photographs. Read more

Child’s view: Excluded and invisible in Iran

In late 2005 in Iran, 125 Children, including refugees from Afghanistan and Iraq, took part in a UNICEF-supported photography competition on the theme of children who are excluded from full social participation due to causes such as poverty, conflict, AIDS or discrimination. Read more
