Shoot Nations‘ theme for the year’s competition was GROWING UP IN THE 21st CENTURY and took place from May 1st to July 31. Zanmi Lakay Returns to Haiti this Spring

March, 2009. Zanmi Lakay, an organization dedicated to helping current and former street children in Haiti, will be implementing several projects during Spring 2009. They are looking for digital cameras for their Photography Workshops, as well as support for airline luggage fees, care bag items (soap, toothbrushes and toothpaste, shampoo, combs, hair ribbons, beads, good adult size t-shirts, compact non-battery games), soccer uniforms, and other contributions. Not Just My Illness: A project with homeless, mentally ill women

IPE co-founders, Jim Hubbard and Lynn Warshafsky, have created a new photo project with women who are both homeless and mentally ill. The project aims to support the participants as they explore and develop photo stories that will illuminate their lives. A group exhibition and limited book release is planned for late Spring/early summer in Los Angeles at the Venice Arts Gallery. This project is supported by the Los Angeles County Arts Commission through the County Productivity Investment Fund.
