PhotoPhilanthropy Activist Awards

May 26, 2009

PhotoPhilanthropy is a non-profit organization dedicated to raising awareness and activism in social causes through photography. The PhotoPhilanthropy Activist Awards allow student, amateur and professional photographers to capture the work of a local or global not-for-profit organization through the creation of an engaging Photo Essay.

A large percentage of the Photo Essays submitted will appear on our website at www.photophilanthropy.org. The top Photo Essays in each category will also receive cash prizes. For students, there is one $500 Grand Prize, two $250 Excellence Prizes and four Honorable Mentions.

In addition to cash prizes, participation in the PhotoPhilanthropy Activist Awards provides several key benefits for students:
·       Recognition for quality photography and community involvement
·       Exposure and credential building for photographic work
·       Opportunity for feedback from panel of respected judges
·       Building a marketable skill
·       Potential for greater exposure in media articles about contest winners and participants
