Academic

The Institute is dedicated to becoming a destination site for academics who are interested in the study, research, archiving and dissemination of participant produced media. Our goal is to allow the free exchange of ideas, questions and materials between scholars, as well as those who are overseeing organizations and/or projects that fall under the “Empowerment” heading.

At this time, IPE is currently soliciting papers, articles, publications, and research items that fall within the participant produced genre. In addition, student learning and placement opportunities are available on a rotating basis. All interested parties should contact Jake de Grazia.

Students

A primary goal of the Institute is to support the education of students in the field of participant-produced photography and related media. IPE is dedicated to building an Institute that will provide the tools necessary to allow students to access, review, share and analyze works from around that globe that reflect the growing field of participant-produced media.

Currently we are asking students to submit their own blog postings, empowerment project stories and ideas, and the types of challenges they face when studying Empowerment projects.

If you have questions about IPE, contact Jake.
